One of my favorite things ever was reading Bobby Finger's announcement that he was stepping down as a blogger for Jezebel. His post confirmed everything that I thought working for Jezebel would be like. It confirmed what I thought your lives were like. It confirmed what kind of people that I suspected you are. Sad,

Diversity Coordination or whatever you would like to call it is important. A well rounded academic experience includes people with a wide variety of experiences and opinions. Everyone already knows what white males think.

Things affluent students and parents expect colleges to provide. They expect the social community that they experienced i.e. parties, tailgating, sporting events. They don’t care about actual learning. They are paying for an experience. The degree is just a piece of paper.

The need to attract students is due to the loss of public funding for incoming students. Schools are competing for the most profitable students (i.e., foreign students who will pay full tuition). The way to compete is to hire the best trained staff who pursue flashy marketing-related spending. That guy’s comment about

We spend so much per capita on it, but the return is very, very low.

I think much of what you are talking about is driven by a shift in what students and parents expect colleges to provide. This has led to things like multimillion dollar student recreation centers, state-of-the-art dorms, and extensive student affairs/activities staffs. People care more now about the university as a

Republicans as a group are massive fucking crybabies.

You sound hysterical. Do you need a tissue?

You nailed it man. Those two articles by this website explain Republicans’ current tendency to win more elections, overall and with many important caveats, than Democrats. The entirety of this comment should earn you a Ph.D in political science and an opinion column in the New York Times.

Right now the bulk of the country isn’t paying attention yet, because we’re still 8 months from the start of the primaries. I fully expect once things get underway, you’re going to see the black community drift away from him, in part over things like this.

I’ve mentioned this before, but the fundamental problem with the rhetoric of people like McConnell (beyond the fact that, ya know, it’s in patent bad faith and designed merely to be repeated by people to say why, of course, reparations are beyond the pale), is that it confuses the issue of “fault” with

Imagine for a second that these words were said by another politician anywhere else on the globe:

Not really his job too. Making sure he was off the set was good enough. Maybe his victims weren't ready. It's their call to report him.

Ask him if this one means Cold Water Only, and then follow up with Is That What Happened To Your Face and then high five the first two people you see.

This would be the perfect question to ask him face-to-face, because you know he’s the kind of guy who REALLY wants you to ask about his tattoos, and that would hurt him.

I take it to mean that Landis’s behaviour was consistent with the sort of sociopath who could serially abuse women. What Trank actually “knew” may have been much less than that.

It is true, ice cream does not cause rape...however, he dropped the tweet in response to this news so it is more likely, yes?

I’m not sure this means that Trank knew about Landis being a sexual assaulter back then. He could also have just banned Landis from the set because Landis was a standard-issue jerk.
