The Queen’s whole demeanor will be “New phone, who dis?”

Oh, he’ll be running off to the restroom often to text her.
We’re allies. This is how it goes. It’s a state visit and he’s the...I can’t bring myself to write it but you know what I mean.
She would likely decline if she could but she can’t. (she’s on maternity leave so she gets a Get Out Of Meeting A Racist Jackass Free Card)
They made an entire show about doing something most of us sum up with a “Come get your shit” text message?

I’m a longtime fan of Queen. (I’m old, lol.) And I can match your knowledge of Queen and Mercury and then some.
In his defense, he does seem to be a massive idiot jackass.
K-pop does it right: Fans pay to see the artists up close but the only touching that happens, be it a handshake or a hug is only initiated by the artist.
Ultimately, her book is about censorship. She made a mistake that apparently only shows up on two pages of that book. Her central thesis on censorship of gay writings and writers, for one, is not undercut merely because she was incorrect about the execution of gay men for sodomy in the cases she presented.
My opinion is that they gave her an offer, she counter-offered, they said “no” and she said “I won’t do it for that price.” and that was the end of it.
How could you have queer cinema being released by the mainstream when being queer was taboo and illegal across the country and culture? That’s why we needed something like “The Celluloid Closet” to break down the subtexts and queer-coded characters: You couldn’t do it openly until the 60s really.
What are you talking about? Seriously. They negotiated, she didn’t like their offer, she said “no, thanks”.
I remember seeing that at that time and thinking, “Ohhhh, he really is over, damn.”
Pretending CBS didn’t try to spread bad press about what was nothing more than a failed negotiation that should have stayed private, isn’t a good look either but, sure, shit on her for not playing their game that was to the sole profit of CBS.
The ONLY reason you or I know about this is because CBS tried to make her look bad. She revealed the truth of the situation ONLY after CBS was implying she was being difficult and not wanting to help out her former colleagues.
What I don’t understand is why no one in the comments, complaining that she is being unreasonable, aren’t asking why CBS blew this up in the first place, trying manipulate her via bad press?
Unless Panjabi got paid less money at Margulies insistence on their show, your comment is in no way relevant.
Why is it “unreasonable”? Serious question.
