tissues, hugs, and your choice of which cat to scritch for purrs.

nobody should have to have a #metoo story, but as someone who also has one i respect him being willing to share his. i’m also relieved to hear that it sounds like he’s been seeing at least one pro about this and whatever else he was having issues with.

Is going USPS RealAddress an option where you live? Because I live in a trailer park and that’s pretty much what I do. (My actual *neighbors* are fine, but I’ve had neighbors get broken into before.)

Is that why they always yell about people “gaming the system” when it’s food stamps/WIC/disability-type stuff?

Apparently I’m at the point where my entire life is the kind of politics my Trumpista uncle hates. (I’m white and family, but I’m also on SSDI and Medicare, live in a 70% Latinx neighborhood, and thanks to disability issues keep ending up doing seasonal tax prep in my neighborhood. This basically means most of my

I am “crazy” according to the federal government (SSDI check for being bipolar). Your nephew’s speech is scaring me. (I have a Trumpista uncle, and while I hate his politics I’ve never threatened to kill him and don’t want to.) So yeah, protect yourself.

I’m from Wisconsin. Among other lovely (sarcasm font set to 120 point bold) things of this nature, we have a town called Chippewa Falls because a whole bunch of white folks couldn’t pronounce even Ojibwe close to correctly, and their school district is “let’s use ALL the tribal names we can think of” for middle

Considering there is a non-zero chance I’m going to have to hold my nose really hard and vote for Biden, this is sadly true for me as well. (I honestly don’t know who’s got both my white but queer/disabled back AND my neighborhood’s back, considering where I live and work is about 70-75% Latinx and most of us are

I’m a Texan. He couldn’t beat Ted Cruz, who is probably best known for “38% of Floridians think there’s at least a chance he tricked out a De Lorean to pull off the Zodiac killings” meme fame and who a lot of Republicans are not fans of. I’m dubious even if he *did* get a fair amount of nationwide attention and

I’m a Texan. I also happen to be a white person living in a majority-Latinx school district. We have school bond issues coming up for the area/districts around where I live ALL THE TIME because of this shit.

I’ve lived in a 70-75% Latinx neighborhood for 18 years. I do seasonal taxes in the same neighborhood. I fail Spanish tax return prep/real conversation fluency forever thanks to spoons-related issues, but I learned the 10 basic convenience store questions, some odds and ends slang and swear word-wise, and I can rattle

Does my Trumpista uncle (who’s white and spells it with a V) still count? (Dude literally has a Trump sticker on the back of his Escalade and somewhere along the way also-white me’s entire life pretty much became politicized enough to annoy him.)

Yeah. This isn’t cool behavior by any stretch of the imagination considering it’s basically robbery with a concealed weapon, but it’s not rape.

As long as they drag Pence, McConnell, Kavanaugh, Steve King, Ted Cruz, John Cornyn, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorbusch, and whoever else is directly f*cking up either my life or that of people I care about in other states out too I’m totally cool with that.

The *real* basic Spanish test: can she say the 10 basic convenience store phrases and does she know what a ‘pinche pendejo’ is? Because pretty much *everybody* regardless of actual first language or heritage can SWEAR in Spanglish where I live, even if some of our accents are pretty weird. (18 years in South Texas

Go Tamron!!! I’m a true crime TV addict, and I’ve seen her on enough “Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall” and varying “Dateline”-type deals to think she’s gonna kick some ass on daytime. Also, yay for both the “get some more women in here” and her marriage/new baby.

definitely crowd source, we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to add their candidates to the list. (logistics also sounds likely to be a necessity.)

No respect for that line of thinking whatsoever. High school teachers shouldn’t be looking at their mostly underage students like that PERIOD.

Being an abuse survivor is a risk factor for becoming an abuser (just look at R. Kelly and Chris Brown), but risk factors aren’t guarantees of anything. Plenty of folks survive abuse, get their shit at least sort of together, and don’t end up leaving a trail of victims.

FWIW, this white lady survivor has a whole lot of respect for him being willing to talk about his assault, because despite stereotypes, ANYBODY (and yes, that includes big muscular dudes) can be victimized given the wrong circumstances.
