Also, if the headline was “Was I Wronged?” it would have been a much less thought provoking piece.
I think it was certainly wrong, and his actions were unacceptable, no question. Whether or not I’d personally label it “rape” is sort of unimportant, I think.
I can’t even say how many times I’ve frozen up and have been unable to speak in confrontational situations. Later of course, I chide myself for not saying something and feel guilty that I somehow am responsible for not doing so. The author though told him “no” many times before the situation happened though and he…
“Freezing is a third fear response recognized in the field of psychology but, for some reason, missing from public discourse. Someone tries to put a hand on me; I’m uncomfortable, but I can’t move or speak. “No” is not clear.” http://ladyclever.com/culture/freezi…
I’m not worried about me sexualising her. Are you honestly saying you wouldn’t worry about a 13 year old being topless in a public area? I would suggest you would be in quite a small minority
Indeed, apparently “family values” fails to include coherent, proper English?
He’s not just defending men’s ‘right’ to stare with “boys will be boys,” but actually supporting men’s “inclantion” to grab a woman’s nipple in public.
Honestly, I’m more shocked by the atrocious spelling and grammar than by the actual content of the tweets. That they are dangerously aggressive loose canons comes as less of a surprise.
I see the AP credit at the bottom now.
I am also pro-choice, and I concur....once the baby is out and separate from the mother, it is it’s own person. and “finishing the abortion” (i.e. killing a newborn) should count as murder. The reason I am pro-choice is because a woman gets to determine what happens to her body, and I believe the baby counts as an…

The campaign was started as a social media campaign thanks to ALS patients and their loved ones. In particular it was two patients that are credited with doing the most work to get it to go viral. Although it was started by the brother-in-law of a patient who had seen it used to some success in sports for other causes.

Many of the people who dumped water on their head, also gave money. But for those that couldn’t, they were given a way to help by participating in raising awareness. Which helped them link to other people who COULD donate. ALS noted in a survey of people donating that 29% of people who donated had never heard of ALS…
Except for the fact that it raised a TON of money and that money has already been put to good use and lead to some breakthroughs in the fight against ALS.
So the extra $100 million dollars ALSA raised over their prior year is “zero dollars per person reached”? Yes, it was fucking stupid, but come on.
So, I didn’t have many major qualms about the ice-bucket thing. A ton of money got raised during its run. Most videos I saw had a direct call-to-action for a specific charity.
That was a fundraising campaign. It raised funds. 87% of the $220 million went to patient care and research, including more than one study considered to have had an important outcome regarding potential future treatment options.
While I agree, sometimes to people, seeing the support can be helpful.
