I'm not sure that would be the case, as we aren't privy to how tight it was. Looking at that replay, it sure does seem like the force of the blow would have popped off that helmet regardless of how tight that strap was strapped onto the helmet. Hell, the straps weren't even flailing around, just a popped off helmet.

Prayers seemed to have been answered. Man, that looked awful. I'm hoping that he doesn't have his brain too scrabbled and not suffer too much in the coming up days.
