My Bank's BillPay service allows you to directly deposit funds into somebody else's checking or savings account, thus eliminating the need for most checks in the first place. Maybe some people won't want to give out their routing and account numbers, but they are giving it away every time they write a check.

@Ajh: Cool, hope you like it, I'll be watching for your vote. What was bothering you about foxit? The main reason I switched was because the Firefox extention took FOREVER to load PDFs. It constantly prompted me that the application was not responding, and I would have to click retry 20 times before it would load.

@1111: They should probably change the title on this to, "What PDF Reader do you use" because obviously people are going to be using the one they think is best, even if they haven't tried all other options. And obviously, just because the majority uses something, doesn't mean it is best.

@TheLouis: Me too. Foxit gained our trust and then sold out on us. Please try PDF Xchange viewer before you vote for foxit.

It may not stop people from pirating music, any more than licensed software prevents people from pirating it. However, it does allow for a reasonably priced subscription service, where you can listen to all the music you want, and in the case of Zune, where you can download 10 DRM-free songs per month for your

@templar: Hmm that's an interesting technique. Doesn't sound legal, but still interesting. I suppose if you are sure the number doesn't belong to anyone, it doesn't really classify as identify theft, but it is still false information. How do you know the number you are using won't be assigned to a newborn? After all,

@MarlboroTestMonkey7: That's what I was going to say! Maybe throw a little food coloring in it too to spice it up a bit.

"Every modern browser implements the Ctrl+L shortcut key for easy access to the location bar-and now you can use the same shortcut in Internet Explorer as well."

@SuperTuna: Yes, exactly. However, they forgot to mention the fact that IE8 will mow your lawn and change a baby's diaper whereas Chrome and Firefox will not (although this is expected in later releases).

@arienh4: Ahh yes, of course. I don't understand this "Call US numbers for free" feature that Google Voice has. The way it works is you call your google voice number and then dial the number that you want to call. Why would you do this as opposed to calling the number directly? You are still using your minutes either

Does Google Voice somehow bypass Sprint's per minute call forwarding fees? That's the only reason I'm not using GotVoice right now.

Or you could just stop worrying about what people think of you. It's probably more humiliating if somebody found out that you were trying to use this stealthy trick anyway.

@kagekiri: Yes, exactly. Simply put, if you like alcohol in moderation, great. However, using the possible fringe health benefits as a reason to drink it would be terribly unwise. Especially considering alcohol companies have every incentive to convince you that it does promote good health. According to the article,

No matter how little alcohol you drink, it is still poison to your body. Common sense says there are better ways to promote health.

@AtomFury: I've never seen a gold bar flash drive like that, but I think it is sweet. If anybody else was wondering, I found it: [www.usbgeek.com]

I guess some people just won't accept change.

No more "Geek Gear"? Was it politically incorrect or what?

Wow, the female voice for Bing 411 is pretty terrible. At least the Goog 411 voice sounds like a real person, not like a hypnotizing robot.
