those wheels are pretty heavy, and have quite a bit of kinetic energy in them. and electrics have a lot of torque.

gintama really get going later in the series. its a very self-aware, meta, kind of show. thankfully whoever did the subtitles give us american people of huge favor by clueing us in to all those really inside japanese culture jokes. which is like 1/4 the jokes in the show.
