Really? Swore I saw several science programs (NOVA, etc.) that stated that the reason some of those volcanoes have such long in-between eruption periods is because the pressure of the glacier’s weight keeps them from erupting more frequently. Being as Iceland is on a hot-spot and all.

You know, I’m not so worried about the long-term loss of the glaciers as much as what would happen if certain Icelandic glaciers were to lose just enough ice to let the volcanoes they are sort-of keeping in check explosively erupt.
