The BBC does have technical fault on-screen cards and employed them during this incident. The programme in question was BBC’s late news broadcast that goes out on their main channel, BBC One, in addition to their 24-hour news channel, simply BBC News.

"Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2" is the only movie that I've both enjoyed and twice booed at. The boos were for the Howard the Duck cameos.

The pool table is a steal right now, but one must account for shipping costs. I don't know what that would cost for something that large.

I'm not sure about _all_ the objections about Kinja, but the biggest annoyance for me is that posters and their initial posts start off in a "pending" status.

I’m curious about how well that mechanical keyboard works on a Mac, especially with the Mac’s keyboard shortcuts. I used a Dell keyboard on my work Mac for a day and my hand got pretty cramped.

NBC = Nothing But Curling

The novel is an interesting read, but the story (such as it is) is pretty disjointed although it is ultimately coherent.

Interesting. It seems to be a test pattern from an experimental DuMont station that operated for one year in New York in the early ’50s (KE2XDR). In my relatively quick search, I've seen copies of it and a cleaner recreation on Flickr (minus some details).

Gosh! Can't get a hotel room for less than $200 bucks! Who the hell spends $200/night to stay in PORTLAND?

Yeah, I think I did my back of the napkin calculation incorrectly because it does seem low. When I redid it (based on the per-mile cost of the Warm Springs extension), I got $337.9 billion.

_If_ the original poster meant BART, it would cost approximately $3.45 billion to extend BART from Dublin/Pleasanton to SunTrust Park.

Historically, the Nixon Library was privately controlled. In a transfer of power, the National Archives assumed control of the library and birthplace site in 2007 (as part of the agreement, many historic Nixon-related papers held by the archives were transferred to the library site).

The easiest possible explanation is that "Moon 13" is the base and "the moon" is the location of said base. Although it's somewhat redundant in this case, it's not that uncommon (like the station ident referred to by Jason Kirk Harder or saying New York, New York).

Whoops. Apparently, I can't read. Thanks for the correction, I've edited my post.

Hope winning despite injury reminded me of Kerri Strug in the 1996 Olympics. Strug did her vault routine despite injuring her ankle (and she was famously carried to the podium by her coach).

I agree that the series settles into a better rhythm. One critic asserted that the season was lighter on general pop-culture reference while still leaning heavily on sci-fi/geek culture references.

IMDb indicates there's no overlap between "The Godfather" and "Cry Wilderness" (aside from the extensive use of stock footage of animal wildlife in both films).

Don't be a Herbert, man.

I was totally thinking of "Shada" throughout this episode. The vault _could_ be the prison of the Time Lords…

NBC is airing "SNL" live across all time zones through the end of the season (11:30 ET, 8:30 PT). It appears Global is doing something similar in some markets (airing at 9:29 p.m. in Winnipeg).
