Happy Thanksgiving from Costa Rica! We’ll celebrate it by walking on the beach, and then doing an authentic Costa Rican meal. No turkey and trimmings this year. (Though I greatly enjoy that!)

“You’re not near that mosque anymore”

I can do all weather (except for that crazy ass North American winter that is more reminiscent of the climate in another planet not Earth).

Right this second...

5 hours? Is your perineum still mad at you?

Hey Schweddy!!!! I am so happy to hear! It is such a special place. ;)

I have made an entire life of putting things off. Everything has turned out great for me as it will turn out for you with this paper. Do tune us out for a bit whenever you're ready to.

You

sigh...

You look nice. You look fab. You cheered yourself up, and you look fabulous to everyone else!!!! Win, win, win, win, and win.

I wish there was more I could do than star yours and everyone’s comments in your thread, and send you electronic love (but real love nevertheless). May it pass and may amazing experiences await.

Long post. My apologies. Over the years a number of reviews by many different people have sounded very much like this one. To be fair most of the reviews are excellent but I think that’s more indicative of the average tourist and not of the quality of the facility.

I was being over the top with the “petting zoo" tag. Ok, as I have heard it is that the woman who runs it is very profit driven and exploitative of how sloths are seen by the world at large. Sadly that is not that uncommon here. Everyone and their cousin has some sort of wildlife rescue something going. Many of them

No kidding! They’re controversial to say the least. Their most “fair” criticism is that they’re more “sloth petting zoo” with no real rescue intention and no real plan to reintroduce back to the wild. Most of the people give them great reviews but then again most of the people would take home a sloth if they could.

Actually there are a number of causes you’re willing to die over (and kill over)

Oh yes, look into that Sanctuary. It's run by some really weird people. Look at the bad reviews on trip advisor. They're not undeserved.

Ok, you're talking about the Limon Province and not the port city of Limon (which an open sewer of a town btw). Ok, if you want to be close to the sanctuary but still on a great beach may I suggest Cocles, Manzanillo, and Puerto Viejo. I suspect once you're living here you won't be spending much time at the sanctuary.

And this is the kind of stuff the red-staters in fly over country are willing to die to support. Funny thing is they often work for the same wages under similar conditions.

In Costa Rica. Limón is the one town I do not recommend.

“Excellent idea”
