Well, and regardless on a purely practical level, if they did somehow decide to do that out of the goodness of their hearts it wouldn’t be sustainable. It’s almost like Obamacare opponents have no idea what insurance actually is.

Yeah, if they pass “the good parts” of Obamacare without the mandate, all they’re doing is committing murder on the health insurance industry. At least for the ones with a modicum of intelligence, on some level they already know that and have really screwed themselves into a corner.

So word on the street is that they don’t bother to teach civics in middle or high school anymore, which is a big part of the problem our country faces today (imho). I don’t understand how we can encourage young people to participate in a democracy when they don’t understand what that participation means.

There’s an old proverb (that’s actually in Proverbs) that I think Obama is or at least should be reading every night right about now:

Didn’t he essentially say in this same interview when he was asked about gay marriage that it was settled by the supreme court and now is the law of the land and that he respects that. Shouldn’t this reasoning also apply to abortion, which was also settled by the court and has been the law for over 40…

At the very least, his team needs to set aside a week to A Clockwork Orange him with some Schoolhouse Rock shorts.

He has every right. And a large part of me wishes he would.

Trump: Gay marriage was decided by the Supreme Court. So it’s done, it’s settled. We need to accept that.

I don’t expect the majority of my fellow citizens to understand all of this, but I do expect that the person sitting in the highest elected office in the land has passed an 11th grade civics class!

Right there with you. I get why he’s doing it, I admire and love him, but I don’t think I could. I’d be poisoning the doorknobs and putting rattlesnakes in the closets.

I’m right there with you. Evil people use our good nature against us. No way would I let that marmalade sphincter blame me when he does the wrong thing. And the press is so crappy, they’d probably go after Obama for having a shadow government.

That is honestly the most mind boggling thing to me.
