I can only imagine the writers all sitting around a table and thinking of puppy names. "Rover? Seriously? How cliche can you get?" "There's no way that one's a Charlie. Maybe a Max. Maybe."

Yeah, Hor? No, definitely not. Ho? Same problem. Ace? Sounds like a dog or California surfer dude.

As a fellow birdwatcher….best depiction of a birdwatcher on TV, hands down. I hope she's getting tons of lifers in Connecticut.

Sue and Bob: briefly lock eyes and immediately change the subject.

"I'm like biscotti–I seem like a sweet cookie, but I'm actually weird and hard and no one knows what or why I am"

yeah, I feel like that's one of his more underrated songs

This comment just reminded me of how great Rick and Morty's use of this song was. Especially the clever double meaning of this line wrt Tiny Rick.

King's Crossing is the song that gets me every time. I could imagine people saying it's too on the nose, but I admire the song's directness, its willingness to come in and draw blood. There's something genuinely frightening about it, like Elliott Smith's given up strumming the guitar placidly and talking in subtle

*refers back to quote above* (she is also one of my guilty pleasures)

If it makes you happy…it can't be that ba-aa-aaa-aad…

Skeleton is kind of a masterpiece, imo – it's done nothing but grow on me.

Yeah, "Do You Want To Get High" sounds right out of the 90s. The other singles sound less 90s, but still fun and catchy. I think if you expect the whole album to sound like Pinkerton you'll probably be disappointed, but if you just want some good pop rock it will deliver.

I liked The Path, but man, creepy music overkill. But I guess I should have expected that, seeing The Path and Parenthood are directed by the same people.

I think his short stories and comics tend to be better than his novels, probably because effective short stories can be based around a single surprising or thought provoking concept. His novels need (and don't usually have) a compelling character to guide the reader and make all of Gaiman's crazy, creative ideas hang

I'm reading a Jess Walter novel. I've really liked his short stories – they are grounded, funny, and engagingly real. They have characters you just want to hang out with, and the humor's snappy without being too whimsical. I like the novel (which is called Beautiful Ruins) but I would recommend his latest short story,

I don't think that S & C necessarily is more corrupt than HHM, I just think that Kim could be closer to the top at S & C. At HHM, Kim does not have much real power; if she got more influence at S&C she might have to make some harder ethical choices. Anyways, I don't think she will take the job so my speculations are

Wise Blood please

I'm not sure how happy she would be at Schweikart and Copley. Taking the job would be good for her financial situation, and might allow her to work her way up into a position with more built in freedom and independence. But I suspect working for a big firm could test Kim's ethics just as much as working for Jimmy. I

Don't you mean An America Tail, in the tradition of animated movies about animals everywhere?
