Yeah, the angel-eyes in the pic look as though they've had at least the bulb swapped out. Angel-eyes on BMWs haven't looked like that until only a couple of years ago when they started using LED bulbs.

The E46 M3's redline is 8k, with the cutoff being at most like 200rpm higher than that.
