I'm pretty sure the developers of pcars once said that the wii u can handle stuff xbox360 and ps3 can't, so if anything they're probably more excited about the wii u version than the now cancelled versions.

Why would you expect it to be cancelled on Wii U when the article says "current gen".

i don't see how "potential launch hardware problems" is reason to wait. if anything you'd be getting more out of this console if you were to buy it earlier.
