I'm stuck between "don't want to read giant blocks of text" and "I want to know more".

Both. I like the first game's multiplayer, and the second game is bound to be twice as good.

Only noticable differences to me are less polygons, no AA, and slightly lower texture quality.

I actually had a copy. It got lost when I moved from Wisconsin to Washington.
