I could argue that Tony would've been luckier tonight if his advantage was challenge-based rather than another idol. If he would've been given a challenge advantage (like not having to dig up his bags) that would've guaranteed him a victory like all other auction advantages have done, he could've just voted out Tasha…

Whoever wins deserves to win. Period.

Other simple reasons for Spencer's exaggerated air time:
-He's been an underdog since the first episode, while Tasha was in control of the vote on the Brain's tribe
-Tasha has not been vulnerable to a vote out in three out of five post-merge tribal councils, Spencer has.

You now have made me mourn the loss of Tony in this challenge. We would probably literally see the fumes coming off of him.

It is not uncommon for this show to under-feature a female winner. Ask Natalie White. Or Sophie Clarke. Or Vecepia Towery. Or Amber Mariano (nee Brkich). Or… you get my point.

That's such a good point that I'll probably steal it tomorrow night. Tony just undid any and all talk of "Trish is secretly running things". Well, okay, probably not on the internet, but definitely on the island.

There can still be repercussions: the final jury being the most obvious. But also, he could lose Woo as an ally. It is becoming more and more necessary for Tony to face the jury beside Woo (who can only look like Tony's puppet at this point. Even Jefra picked up on that, immediately post-blindside).

We're trying to figure out why he gets more airtime is all. So it's not a discussion of "does he deserve to win" right now, it's a discussion of "does he deserve the hype".
