You have to deal with the “is”. Apart from the Northeast and Chicago, most public transit in US cities is woefully inadequate and people have no choice but to commute by car. Further, many, many cities grew up before the automobile and therefore not only lack sufficient street parking, but places to put garages -

You dummy. There are no “car lanes.” All lanes are legally shared by bikes and cars. If you’re riding down the middle of the lane blocking traffic, that’s one thing to rightly criticize, but not just riding in the lane as far from traffic as possible, which is often the only option.

Found the asshole.

Let’s be honest though about the FRUSTRATION cyclists must cause you and I.

It takes us what, waiting an earnest 15-30 seconds for a safe moment to pass?

All we’re doing in a car is sitting in a comfy chair and flexing our little ankle a few degrees to rocket at 60mph.

We’ve got our music on, we’re air conditioned...

You’re celebrating criminal assault and battery. Why? because you’re jealous of people who are in better shape than you are? Because you’re angry that some people choose to ride a bike rather than take a car? You’re a real piece of work... and by that I mean a real scumbag.

Even if the cyclist broke a traffic law, they don’t deserve to be assaulted.

If your response to an article about someone in a car assaulting a cyclist in a bike lane is some bloo bloo bloo about bikes in the traffic lane (where they are allowed by law in almost everywhere!) you should get your head checked because something is clearly wrong with you.

SF resident here. As with any city, it depends on which neighborhood you’re in - the Tenderloin is skid row and always has been, and the area around Civic Center is pretty sketchy too. But lots of other neighborhoods are fine, and I feel far safer living in SF than I did at several different locations in Oakland,

Those damn cyclists who don’t abide by the traffic laws. And surely you’ve never gone a mile ever the speed limit on the highway, right?

Not really actually. I just enjoy pointing out how often sad attempts to look hard and edgy on the internet coincide with a nearly complete inability to articulate thoughts.

If only drivers were as law abiding as you think...

I think SF has some exceptionally bad areas that get a lot of attention, but overall it’s not much different than any other big city. I’ve been to museums, concerts, a conference, and a Warriors game there in the past year with absolutely no issues.

Where in the video did you see this now? The car just came up on the cyclists and started dooring them.

Civil society is breaking down in America. People are so isolated from strangers now that the only interaction they have is on the road, where bigger, heavier vehicles make them feel invulnerable and able to negligently or deliberately hurt others with no expectation of consequences.

You are a pathetic loser. You can reply with as much false bravado as you want and it won’t matter. We all know you’re a pathetic loser and you know you’re a pathetic loser. Because what kind of person wastes time trolling and shitposting online?  Pathetic losers.

Why are people such fucking pricks?

This is absurd, I just don't get it. I don't know anyone who didn't have a bike and ride it around as children, so what happened with these idiots when they got their license. Just regects of human existence? Like the ahole in Texas that plowed into a group of cyclist last year or so. I know for one thing, my 70+ year

This doesn’t even make any damn sense. What are you trying to convey? Are you just so excited at the prospect of being a complete dipshit, that your pea-brain can’t even structure an intelligible sentence quickly enough?

The pettiness and assholery the human kind is capable of is entirely remarkable. Kind of a miracle we’ve had the ability to annihilate ourselves as a species since the mid-1960s and have lasted this long...

Wow, second comment and it’s straight to being an asshole. Bravo.
