Thank you! People who say almond milk uses too much water/is too wasteful but happily drink cow’s milk are delusional. The meat and dairy industry use a massive amount of water to keep their animals alive and are so environmentally toxic.

Soy milk has its own problems. Women who are at risk of, or who have had breast cancer should not drink it because the plant estrogens could cause tumor growth. This has not been proven or disproven, but it’s probably best to err on the side of caution.
Seriously. This whole discussion is pretty dumb. We all like different things. I personally can’t stand milk. And soy is even worse. My mom, however, drinks 2% milk by the gallon. My baby had colic and the only thing that helped was me cutting out dairy and soy, and since I didn’t like the taste of milk anyway, I…
I think soy milk and most soy products taste like trash. I like the flavor of almond milk. Plus men should not have soy products because it contains estrogen.
Not quite the same in cereal.
Hemp milk tastes really good but it's still shit for the environment. I'm on the FODMAP diet. Sucks.
Why does it have to have the exact same nutrient profile as cows milk? I don’t see why it can’t just be its own thing; if you’re having almond milk for breakfast instead of cows milk, you can afford to eat more of your protein and fat calories rather than drink them, which frankly most of get lots of as it is. Either…
Yup. It’s a coffee issue. I don’t need milk for anything else, and dairy milk doesn’t sit well anymore. Cream’s okay, but it’s about a billion fat calories per teaspoon. Almond milk it is!
Some brands of almond milk have a higher percentage of calcium per cup than dairy milk. It also doesn't expire nearly as quickly, IME.
I think that you should deal with my unpleasant stomach pains and other related consequences when I consume dairy milk, then.
Yeah, my bf is lactose intolerant and is very loyal to his specific brand of almond milk. He’s not drinking it to be cool, he’s drinking it to not have the shits.
As a person who grew up drinking milk freshly squeezed from a cows teat, I give it up wholeheartedly to almond milk. Milk fresh from a cow smells terrible and really isn’t that pleasant. It’s processed to shit, by the time it hits stores.
I agree with you about the water, which is why I don’t drink it anymore, but I don’t think you’re quite right about the nutrition; almond milk has calcium, magnesium, and vitamins A, D and E, pretty good for something without a lot of calories and no fat. It’s too bad the almonds are so water intensive.
Ha yeah tell that to the millions of adults who have a dairy intolerance or (as with my husband) who is extremely allergic to it. Almond/Coconut/Cashew (but not soy!) is all right to me/us/everyone who can’t stomach dairy.
oh god. who cares? for all intents and purposes, it’s milk, and serves every function of milk culinarily speaking. don’t get into semantics here.
There really needs to be a fuck balance movement in journalism, because sometimes there just aren’t two equal sides.
I suspect that he was chosen because there is an extremely limited selection of journalists Trump is willing to speak to and they are all closer to Home Shopping Network hosts than actual journalists. No way he would ever allow himself to be in the same room as a serious journalist at this point, particularly not a…
This is an important point that people keep losing sight of. Trump is not legitimately running for president. This “campaign” is an infomercial for the 2017 launch of the Trump/Ailes/Breitbart right-wing media empire.
