I was a kid who was too embarrassed to be flagged as a free lunch kid to partake. Luckily I am aware of several districts that have eliminated any distinction. All kids meet in the cafeteria or classroom for free breakfast, all kids get free lunch

Me too. If we spend money and waste some food but 5% of the kids don’t go hungry I think it’s a win.

I found the same. The shitty holier-than-thou conservative teachers often wound up in the district’s poorest schools (their skills didn’t allow them any other choice)

Yes! I worked in a district that was very high poverty and most of the students were ELL who spoke Spanish at home. I heard lots of “why don’t they learn English?” “Why are we giving these kids free lunch when their parents can buy McDonalds?”

In my experience working in high poverty, mostly non-white schools the teachers tend to be far left or extremely conservative with almost no middle.

We had a hotel room and the kid was at an evening activity on inauguration night. No sex was had. DJT is the ultimate birth control

I’m in a blue state, in a blue district so I’m devoting my energy to fair redistricting (especially since I’m surrounded by red counties) State level is where we can make the greatest impact

I help care for these guys as part of my volunteer job and I’ve actually grown fond of them.
