I keep us in a small urban condo for a reason. It’s too small for more than a single night visit and close to hotels

My kid sometimes tells me to go back in the kitchen, where I happily keep coffee and a book.  

Galley kitchens are so functional for cooking! In my mom’s bigass open kitchen you have to walk around an island with boiling pasta pots to get to the sink. It’s ridiculous

I had separate kitchens more most of my son’s life and spend 2-3 hours a day in there. He survived, though I acknowledge that he’s not a huge risk taker. I preferred putting all the books back on the shelf or re-rolling the toilet paper to not having a little solitude in the kitchen

My 1940 apartment has the best of both. The kitchen is opening to the dining room but not even visible from the living space. I love it

There are worse problems to have!

We now have hundreds. I just bought a bed with storage drawers and we filled a whole drawer with books

You’re not alone. My husband and son play legos for hours everyday. My brother buys kits to build and give away. I can only handle building if stoned tbh.
