I’m speaking based on the OP’s comment, if the game feels like a chore with no progress at almost 30 hours in, my money is that he will drop it eventually. A 60 hour game that is 59 hours of tedium and 1 hour of something that resembles a good game, is in fact, not a good game.

If you are 26 hours into a game, I think you should at least have some idea of where the game’s story goes, and according to OP, this has not happened. That was also my problem with the original FF7, played for like 3-4 hours and the story barely progressed at all, so I dropped it.

If you are a patient gamer, probably nothing, as far as I’ve heard, this game has no pay-to-progress mechanics, but most likely will involve grinding. I’m gonna play it because Yoko Taro, and will see how it goes, I’ve never spent money on a Free to play game and Im not starting now.
