It seems that they've been rolling out one classic character per week for a while, even if it's extremely minor characters like Gersten Hayward and Sylvia Horne. I wager that Ed will make his appearance next week since he's the last one to go. Nadine also needs to do more than swoon over Jacoby.

Hawk has a line pertaining to Sheriff Truman in the original series (as Harry grieves for Josie) that feels very relevant to Cooper, Audrey, and Harry in 'The Return': "It was like taking a hike to your favorite spot and finding a hole where the lake used to be."

"So did The Clash, baaaaaaby!!"
-David Lee Roth

One of the great things about the original (in my opinion, the best horror movie of the sixties) is that it is pretty up-front about Theo's homosexuality (much more so than Jackson's book), does not demonize her for it (she is clearly attracted to Eleanor but certainly doesn't "prey" upon her and is by far the film's

Ack. Looks like I was wrong:

I had the same thought about the Audrey connection initially, but then I recalled that Audrey only changed from her signature saddle shoes into those red heels after arriving at school in the pilot. Unless I'm forgetting something, I don't believe Cooper ever saw her in anything but the saddle shoes, so the red heels

I thought the beetle might be Laura (or the vehicle taking her into our world) and the girl was Sarah Palmer, but Lynch generally uses insects as symbols of trouble rather than good (see 'Blue Velvet' and his unproduced screenplay 'Gardenback'). Now it would be a different story if a robin had hatched out of that egg…

And she does have a history of defeating Bob…or at least spoiling his plans. What he really wanted was to "occupy" her as he'd occupied Leland, but she allowed herself to die instead. Perhaps Bob wanted to occupy her so badly because he knew that she was the one who would end up defeating him in the end. We're

I was really surprised (and moved) to see that Laura Palmer was the sort of White
Lodge counterpoint to Bob. I feel like the whole season has been setting
up the Real Coop to be the series' ultimate hero, but it may turn out
to be Laura… and if anyone deserves to kick Bob's ass, it's her.

Nine Inch Nails is the Evelyn Marsh of 'Twin Peaks: The Return'.

Yes, which makes Lobot the Leather Tuscadero.

Assuming Audrey knows who the father is.

Possibly Judy. But we're not gonna talk about Judy.

Also Seyfried played a Laura Palmer-like figure on 'Veronica Mars' and it seems like she might play that role again on 'Twin Peaks'. Chew on that one for a month or two, suckers.

But would Cooper really be going "back" to them (a la Sailor going back to Lula and their kid at the end of 'Wild at Heart')? After all, Janey-E still thinks he's Dougie. She doesn't actually known Coop at all. Coop is still in a zonked state, so he doesn't really know her either. If Audrey was unconscious when Evil

An even better question for even better albums— what is better: 'Smile' or 'Revolver'?

I'll go you one further: Villiage Green Preservation Society is the best album.

Nirvana and Led Zeppelin (with a bathroom break during Bonham's 9-hour drum solo) are good picks, but my biggest regret is that I wasn't born early enough to see The Who in 1968 right after the release of 'Sell Out' and before the release of 'Tommy'. Seeing them on that 1989 tour with the horns and percussionists and

Well, I'm sure the specificity of his direction is dependent on the scene. What more could Lynch have said to Cera than, "Do passable Brando impression. Take your time"?

Apparently he has a method of getting real close up in their faces and sort of conducting them with his own emotional reactions to their performances: tensing up and such. I doubt he directs every scene this way, but I think that's how he directs very emotional or intimate scenes.
