Interesting. While I didn't think the opposite of wisdom was either stupidity or ignorance, thesaurus.com disagrees and you are both right. I would have gone with 'foolishness.'

A comedian did an awesome bit on this awhile ago.

The permanence is part of the attraction, at least for me it is. That said, I have a strict 6 month rule on tattoos - I have to know exactly what it says (no chinese or japanese characters because I don't speak either), exactly where it's going and exactly what it'll look like. I have to think about it for 6 months

I cheered a little inside for having no idea who she was. Go me.

Not necessarily or likely. He (or she) may have just signed a general NDA that prevents him (or her) from disclosing any details about his job until X amount of time after employment ended.

I just don't get how this is a "thing." Never once - I'm a guy - have I thought "sending a picture of my junk is a good ideaTM." There is literally no upside - NONE - and about a million downsides. No girl I have ever known says they like getting them. No girl I have ever known has said "well I was on the fence, but

Spot on. You don't ask someone about something they haven't told you, but if it's a common interest, you can drop that you're into it somehow into the conversation. Then let them choose how much they want to disclose.

Well look at it two ways: 1) introduce a piece into the assembly line puzzle (which is likely already humming along) or 2) wait till launch day, give yourself more time to test it (because it isn't being installed RIGHT NOW) and avoid potentially gumming up production.

Not hard to see why they're going with Day 1

Not to be a pedant, but isn't this more "bit pop" than "chiptune?" I understood the latter to be composed of all 8-bit sounds whereas the former used them in conjunction with more traditional instrument sounds.

Unless it's a fake ID. :) I found an ID on the street near my house. After looking up the address on it and seeing it was only a couple miles from my house, I went to deliver it only to find that the address was a paint store (with no apartments above it).

I share your sentiment. I loved those books as a kid. Probably what piqued my interest in science.

If it's worth fighting for, it's worth fighting dirty for.

I only needed to read one story - I had my pants scared off.

OMG this. I made corn jalepeno muffins once and knew I could never make them again because I would just never stop.

"Reality has a well-known liberal bias." :)

This. Probably 20% of the time I spend online is drafting responses I never post.

I will say, although I hate slashdot these days for a lot of reasons, their comment threading and moderation system just makes the most sense to me.

Have well-done responses - either informative or insightful or funny - get modded up and allow users to set a threshold to view. If I only want to see +4 comments, that's
