Games are the tool, but what it really sounds like is that it is a means to an end - which is "I need to GTFO Dodge mentally for a bit" and ends up staying out of Dodge more and more.

@kagekiri: Or you could just not care about the end-game. In WoW, I've seen about 4/10 bosses in Icecrown Citadel. Not that many considering how long the end-game's been available. But while I enjoy raiding, I simply don't care enough to spend the time to learn the fights, go with my guild, etc.

@Pzychotix: Agreed - trying to teach someone else what I'm studying is the most effective method for me. If I can't explain it, I don't know it. And it's easy to identify gaps in my comprehension when someone asks a question.

@[ZTF]Never Without Eloquence: using your own source, check out album sales in general since 2000. It is hard to say that GH or RB are supposed to stave off the decline in sales due to other factors that came into play well before the music game genre.

@[ZTF]Never Without Eloquence: GH1, I bought Franz Ferdinand (loved) and the Donnas (hated). RB2 I bought Paramour, Fly Leaf and Lacuna Coil's albums. And because I liked Fly Leaf and Paramour, I bought their next albums.
