Have you ever seen the episode where Edith gets a job volunteering at the nursing home? I hadn’t until recently, and it made me weep. Jean Stapleton is too good to be true, and Carroll O’Connor is a goddamned miracle. Listen to how that studio audience reacts (or doesn’t!) when Edith talks back to Archie.

They wouldn’t understand that All in the Family is satire, not a reality show.

Wikipedia tells me that the theme song to C’nD was composed by Mark Mueller, who also composed the theme to Duck Tales (woo ooo!) and…“Crush” by Jennifer Paige, one of my top 10 songs of the 1990s.

Fun fact: the theme song to Perfect Strangers was written by Jesse Frederick and Bennett Salvay. Salvay and Frederick were Miller-Boyett’s in-house composers; they also composed the theme songs for, among others, Full House and Family Matters.

I’ll have to check them out. I will actually buy audiobooks—any audiobooks—narrated by either Dennis Boutsikaris (late of Billions) or Steven Weber (from Wings) because they’re so damn good.

You’re probably right, though it’s a pleasure to see Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker in anything these days.

Screw “Must-See TV.” Bring back “TGIF” from 1990.

I’m glad Reid is out. He started his career by riding Babyface’s coattails, and he’s been insufferable ever since.

I use the Dr. Bronner’s unscented baby soap to clean my nightguard (tooth grinding FTW!). That stuff is great.

Whoa.

Sadly, these days, it’s her face, not her veil, that looks like it’s being reinforced with Aqua Net.

I wouldn’t want to be stuck in an airport with a bunch of pissed off lifestyle bloggers, that’s for damn sure.

I have a family member who consults a “long-distance aura healer” over the phone for $200/hour.

Had the chance to talk to Jonatha about it a few years back. She loved working with Katy.

I’m not a Katy Perry fan myself, but the song she co-wrote with Jonatha Brooke is a treasure.

I had dinner with Chris and Tina last week. It is safe to say that they are as fond of “Stop Making Sense” as we are.

Resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ, you say?

I’d actually like to hear Shania cover one of Mutt’s finest (and most prescient) compositions.

I’m curious as to what a Shania Twain album not produced and co-written by Mutt Lange will sound like.
