non-ironically I blame the dreadful title this franchise has. “Horizon”? Generic and uninspired as fuck, although the subtitle “Forbidden West” is a little bit better in this regard. No wonder it seemed to fell off the popular consciousness so quickly.

I never once felt like the developers of this game are subscribing to Rowling’s brand of hate, and that’s the line that needs to be drawn here.

hmmm, interesting comparison, although I think that George Lucas explicitly selling the franchise to Disney (he still gets royalties??) could hypothetically softer the impact a lot more. It would amount to Disney doing some damage control, and further emphasizing how separate GL is from SW, I think.

I think it’s weird that you have not mentioned it at all, but the best game of 2023 (so far) it’s called Pizza Tower and it’s a goddamn blast. Only thing so far to distract me from the remaster of Metroid Prime.

mostly, this remaster reminded me why Metroid Prime is such a triumph of the videogame medium. It’s a game that makes you get into the headspace of Samus very well, and Tallon IV remains one of the best game maps I’ve ever explored.
