I actually think that following the Front Man’s story while the Games happen in the background is an interesting idea. It beats rehashing the same plot from S1.

dunno, this is the last Smash character added (for this game at least), so it will be the most speculated, scrutinied and watched of them all. I don’t see Nintendo giving that spotlight to a third party character, they would want it for themselves.

the worst part is that she was *this* close to get in, because of that leaked “Toon Zelda” from Brawl (and who else could work as an alter ego for Toon Zelda?)

New Horizons was my first Animal Crossing, so I don’t have any emotional attachment to Brewster whatsoever, but any excuse to revisit my island is nice. I think there was snow on it last time I saw it...

you got exactly what I was talking about, SotC doesn’t include anything that detracts from the specific story (like, more enemies besides the Colossi, towns, sidequests, weapons, movesets, etc.) integrating pretty well what you are told its happening and the mechanics you use to do it.

the fact that one can neatly separate the plot and the gameplay of Other M is even worse when you realize that Super Metroid achieved a perfect mix of both. 

oh, but ludonarrative dissonance means something else entirely. Is not about the scope of the story, but how that same story is supported by gameplay.

that’s why you would curate a service like this, no? I know some of the bigger, best titles are caught in licensing issues, but if you last releases are bargain-bin fare like Spanky’s Quest, I would simply not bother.

I would be excited for it if the NES and SNES online libraries weren’t 80% garbage.
