Southern here. I call my parents mama and daddy.

Yeah, I went there too and am vocally agnostic and nowhere near conservative. It’s really not hard to find people you fit in with a school that massive. I think it’s just that the crazy conservative population there is particularly vocal so it seems like more of an issue than it is.
