That is yet another pic of Sophie that makes me think she needs to play the live action version of Jessica Rabbit. :)

Umm, I also grew up in the 70's and 80's, and no, not all healthcare was as she describes, not even close. Further, a HUGE amount has changed between then and now, including tens of thousands of additional regulations that must be followed, massive advances in technology, science, and medicines, reduction of stigma…
Yeah, this. I came here to make the same point about the conflation being made here, but you said it well. It’s easy to shit on Instagrammable plant walls as a foil for our country’s shameful lack of actual systemic, affordable healthcare, but given that we *do* have that hole in our system and we ain’t fixing it…
Supplemental private insurance to actually receive decent care is common in countries with socialized medicine. Single payer could certainly deliver “a” level of care to everyone but in no way is it “the” level of care. Money buys you better care and, short of making doctors and nurses slaves, there does not seem to…
I think you’re conflating a couple of important discussions: the issue of access/cost/caste, and whether the things you can pay to access are absolutely worth it.
Ugh, I hate when I standard or mini poodle wins. Nothing against the breeds themselves in real life, but something about those obnoxious puffballs and shaved bits really burns my biscuits. That’s not a dog, that’s a Barbie Dreamhouse pet accessory that comes with a little pink plastic comb. #neverpoodle…
My first dog as an adult was a wonderful standard that I met the moment she was born and held tight the minute I had to put her down for inoperable malignant cancer. She was the goddamned best frisbee dog. She was the smartest, sweetest, most sensitive pup and was one of the two best I have ever known (the other was…
Kind of behind the ball on this one, given that people have been calling it something like “Wuhan Caronavirus” for nearly a month now. If they can’t offer something distinctive, like a defining/distinctive symptom, people are going to stick with what they’re been using.
Geocaching is the “game” to play outside. Take a walk / bike ride / car drive to a simple or multi-cache and become addicted.
I would say it comes do to views/money.
I mean, how do you not have 3-4 half-empty cans lying around?
Likely story. Jason - and all of Jalopnik - has been in the pocket of Big Otter Jizz for years now.
Jesus, the day men stop being attracted to women is the day the word stops populating. Did anyone get hurt? NO!
The problem is this vehicle shouldn’t really exist.
Ehhhhh... That’s exactly what it is, a bro truck. It’s bought by bros that are more interested in image and the jeep brand than a good truck for a good deal. Bros do exactly that. They spend too much on a truck because of how it looks. The people that actually want a good deal on a good, capable truck buy a different…
That’s the problem, you can get a bigger, more capable truck for the same money. There were plenty of Gladiators at the local Jeep dealership for well into the $50k range. That’s 3/4 ton truck money. I love the idea of a Wrangler pickup priced to compete with midsize offerings, not so much priced against 1/2 to 3/4…
The gladiator is never going to be a BRO TRUCK, so its just too damned expensive.
The thought of maybe getting busted in a foreign country with kilos of hash is a serious lady-boner killer for me.
If you can’t get lucky when the fleet’s in town, you can’t get lucky at all!
We have 4 kids in their 20s. One still lives at home and isn’t very social. The others live nearby, and cheerfully drop by at any time day or night to pick up stuff, or to crash on our couch if they worked late and have an early shift the next day (she lives like 45min from work, we’re about 5 min).
