Don't you complain about 4Mbps down. My parents' house is so rural, the fastest internet available out there is ISDN.

I'm thinking I might get the clear InCase snap case. It looks the most understated, which appeals to me. I'm a little concerned about using a hard, plastic case, though. Won't it just transmit the force from being dropped straight to the glass, anyway?

@Odin: You reminded me of something my grandmother always used to say. "A half truth is a whole lie."

I'm at work (oops) at a pediatrics office right now.

@Trevsbe: Ah, my unfamiliarity with Giz's comment system had my reply to you end up just above your comment.

@Thomas Beck: We can split hairs if you like, but digital distribution is the accepted term for distributing content without physical media.

@Odin: Pretty sure the truth is between the two of you, somewhere. I think that people who live in areas with good reception, like me and Piledriver, don't have much in the way of reception issues. If reception is shaky, then covering that bit in the corner with skin makes it go dead.

@pz: None of us like being nannied by Apple, but we all live in the world we live in, you know? Maybe we're all hoping in vain that Apple will eventually come to their senses. "Never ever" doesn't always mean that when it comes out of Steve Jobs' mouth.

This sounds great, and all, but do you guys really see an extended future in optical media? What'll be easier to convince people of- to buy yet another expensive player or to scrap that whole system and go digital distribution instead?

When I was on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale, the pilot of one of the water taxis told a story about Tiger Woods and his yacht. He bought a huge house right on the canal, but when he tried to park his yacht there, it was just a few feet too big to fit. So he sold the house. These things regularly cost three or four times

I'm not sure which case I want. I honestly think that the official bumper is one of the tackier options... what about you guys?
