I'd like to know if/when it is possible to use the Google Maps engine to build completely new maps. For instance, can I build a map of Toril, the fictional world in the Forgotten Realms game setting?
I would tell my younger self to buy as much Bitcoin as possible in 2008/2009; hundreds of thousands of them. On Nov. 27, 2013, they'll be worth $1250 each.
Here's an even easier approach. If you want to know what color shoes to wear with your suit, ask yourself "Am I a hipster?". If the answer to that question is "no", then wear black shoes.
My sister just gave birth to triplets, and despite the "ewww" factor, they are going with cloth diapers. The cost of disposable diapers for three babies is obscene, no matter where you buy them.
Apparently you're question about how I got the grid on my table was never approved. I'm not a huge fan of how LifeHacker curates the comments...there must be a better way. I'm not even sure you will see this, but here's how I did it.
Pro tip: My daughter is heading off to college this fall. She wants to be a surgeon, but a surgeon discouraged her from getting her undergrad in biology or chemistry. She said that at the end of four years, you may not be too keen on signing up for another eight and another $200k in student loans. She recommended…
I used a sheet of this to make a D&D gaming table. I just routed out a grid of 1"x 1" squares, cut some holes for holding dice, and drink holders, glued the whole thing to a sheet of 3/4" plywood, and let it lay on an old table I don't use anymore. It's perfect for drawing maps, keep track of various stats, etc.
Yeah, well in Australia (like Africa) it's not unusual for the wildlife to try and kill you so you're used to it. In the U.S., it's mostly the weather that tries to kill us. That's why Californians barely raise an eyebrow for earthquakes under a 5.0, and Oklahoman's actually go outside to film tornadoes. I don't know…
Sad that Gen Con, The Best Four Days in Gaming, didn't get a proper shout-out. Also seriously sad that Gen Con doesn't have an app by now. I mean really guys? It's 2014! Put together an app with the event catalog, maps of all the events and the huge 385 vendor exhibitor hall, as well as local bars and restaurants…
While this is of course true, a lot of assumptions were made in this video. "You could have been investing in the stock market and making money" -OR- you could have lost ALL OF IT in the stock market. "You could have been accruing interest in a savings account." -OR- you would have spent it as part of your normal…
This is a subject that is very near and dear to my heart. When I bought my house, I needed to clean quite a bit of floor tile grout. I was really hoping for a no-scrub solution. I tried everything: water, vinegar, soap, bleach, trisodium phosphate (TSP), Comet, and many others in various combinations (fyi - don't mix…
Our (human beings) perception of time is a function of a number neurochemicals. You may notice that time seems to move more slowly when you feel you are in danger. This, it is theorized, is due to a biological fight or flight response where the brain releases certain chemicals to help you react and survive. When we…
What a really great pic! I'm guessing by what looks like an internal reflection, the photo was taken from the Space Shuttle orbiting at a higher altitude.
It's maybe quasi-clever, but looking at how it was constructed leads me to think this is not very stable. The dowels will become loose and the shelves will slide off. I wouldn't put anything I like or value on those shelves. I'm sure there are better ways to achieve similar-looking results. If you glued and screwed a…
So, the maximum dollar amount a cheerleader could earn before expenses and fines is $2000 (16x$125) over a 17 week period. That alone doesn't make it worth the time, energy, and effort. But in the face of this type of employment, why...why would any woman subject herself to this? It just doesn't make any sense at all.
Once again proving why white vinegar is the single most useful substance...on the planet.
I would be seriously careful about using Bing for Photo License Search. I just did a quick look for art under the "Free to share and use commercially" filter. A metric f-ton of copyrighted work came up. Some of it was straight-up copyrighted, and some of it was from a site that had mis-attributed the work as available…
