Višnjić’s Teslas was ‘fine’ and not much more. I can’t disagree more with Caroline putting him on the same level as Tony Curran’s Vincent van Gogh.

I saw 1917 this weekend, too, and I really loved it. The one part I didn’t care for was the “one shot” gimmick. For me, it threw off any sense of space and distance - things started feeling like they took place in video game geography - you rode in a truck for 30 seconds, you’ve gone 4 miles, you walk for 2 minutes,

Agreed about he character building in the latest Star Wars trilogy. It dawned on me that I felt 2 storm troopers in the beginning of the Mandalorian’s last episode got more character development than most of the primaries in the films.

I think one of the smart things Gerwig did in Little Women is never actually saying the ages the girls are supposed to be. I saw it with someone who was unfamiliar with the book, and she just assumed the girls were all older teens (than the book would have had them), and also though Beth was the youngest, and it all

Twist? What twist?

Whenever I see her mentioned, I always think of the BoJack character, Sextina Aquafina

There’s a chance it could have some musical numbers as quality as those from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but I’m not holding my breath.

“Stereotypical comedic black friend” reminds me of all the trailers I keep seeing for Like a Boss, which does not look good in general, but the leads’ sassy gay (and black) friend seems particularly cringy.

Having just discovered Norsemen on Netflix, I’m definitely in favor of streaming services making the effort to support more great European creators!

I just read that Universal notified theaters that they will be receiving a new version of this movie with updated visual effects.

I saw this last night, and it pretty much was just what I expected. No surprises, if you found the first one fun, you’ll like this one just fine. My biggest complaint is a way underused Rory McCann. The villain role is really a pretty minor factor in these movies, but compared to what Bobby Cannavale did in such a

I was just thinking this seemed like the kind of thing they could have gotten Keanu to do at least a short cameo for. It would have been fun to see him interact with Matt Ryan.

He looked about the same as when they did almost exactly the same sketch with Margo Robbie a few years ago. The character even had the same name - Matt Schatt. If nothing else, they missed the chance to throw in a joke about J Lo being his second wife and showing a picture of his ex (Robbie).

JoJo Rabbit. I loved every minute of it. Perfect blend of laugh-0ut-loud funny, touching, thoughtful, sad and insightful. The cast was terrific, especially all of the small parts and side characters - Sam Rockwell, Alfie Allen, Rebel Wilson (the first role of hers I’ve really liked) and Archie Yates for me steals

I went and saw the new Terminator movie this weekend, and thought it was just really ok. I was entertained with some decent action scenes for two hours that I will probably not remember or think about a week from now, but that’s ok.

So now this is going to be another show set in Seattle and filmed in Vancouver. Why don’t any of these shows just have the show set in Vancouver?

Surprised not to see at least a Stray Observation about Kenan making a Shane Gillis reference at the end of the game show sketch, with “We’ve got to start vetting these people. That’s what I feel.” right at the end.

I am a little bothered about how they hand-wave over the implications of how now being a zombie is accepted, and it’s also not only a cure-all for any terminal disease or life threatening injury, but also a way to stop aging.

I think it’s also pretty insulting to Robbie. It implies the only way you can “act” is if you have dialogue. I think it’s a testament to her talent that I thought she conveyed as much about her character and told her story as well as Pitt and DiCaprio with a fraction of the dialogue.
