You’re Tearing Me Apaaaarrt Olga!

Just here to say again that I am aghast at how successful Ahsoka has been, and how her character remains the exception whenever I call for existing franchises to develop new frontiers and go beyond revisiting existing locales and characters. Do we need more TNG goodness in Picard? Not really. Do I want to have another

Star Wars doesn’t *mean* anything. It’s an exceptionally well-crafted pulp serial fairy tale built on an ancient story archetype that exists only because George Lucas couldn’t get the rights to Flash Gordon.

This list is about IDEALIZED revolutions in simplistic terms. FIGHT CLUB’s “revolution” is made up of aimless men who live otherwise ordinary lives being swept up by rhetoric from a madman who wants to shape the world according to his own twisted view of it. So, depressingly realistic.

She wasn’t allowed to talk about it.

That looks R’lyeh good.

Dr. Aphra by Killing Eve’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge would be a perfect match.

Obligatory.

The name of the David Bowie song you’re referring to is Space Oddity.

The Bats and the Furious.

SERGIO!

Yo Anya Chalotra is Yennifer. Not Anya Taylor Joy.

I’m utterly baffled at how misunderstood this show is. The timelines were not that hard to follow. Plus they have the benefit of setting up thoughtful episodic parallels between the characters: see Geralt de-cursing the Strega producing a beautiful princess that retains her feral attitude while Yennifer is transformed.

At a NIN concert in the early 90s, there was a woman mid-floor that wouldn’t stop screaming at the top of her lungs.  This continued during one of the quieter parts of Hurt, where Mr Reznor suggested she “shut the fuck up” mid-song.  Crowd went wild.  It was awesome.

When the MCU goes high, Abrams goes Reylo.

Okay, as of right now there are 469 replies, so nobody is ever going to read mine - but I just got home from the Thursday night preview showing and have to talk about it...

No Game of Thrones and the 8th season’s subsequent fallout?  Or did we all agree to quietly forget about that?
