No one is forced to watch it, but our intellectual superiors need to protect us from all the harmful things in society. They tell me that they know what is best for the rest of us.

Are people being forced to watch this show?
Here is a crazy idea watch the series before calling for it to be cancelled. Also from what I read about the series this doesn’t seem like fat shaming at all, it seems like the opposite of it.
I mean, I get how fucking annoying our dream team of Deadspin writers+commenters is. And there is a lot of compelling content that runs counter to our self important slacktivism out there. But what the fuck compels a person to read that drivel?
Will this new remake remove all those icky gross women that threaten our sense of personal identity and make us feel funny?
That’s wrong way of thinking, there is no excuse for behave like this, you don’t have to tolerate this shit and he needs to take responsibility for his actions.
The work - the agony! Just think if how put out you would be if you actually bought it. I shudder at the very thought....
I loved Scream 1-3. I know people didn’t like Part 3 but I did because Parker Posey was amazing.
There’s always THAT person in pretty much all articles like this. Today, that’s you. Congrats.
I didn’t love the movie, but god, the reactions from people who wanted some clearer moral judgement upon the characters, just, ugh. I hate the way people watch movies now. It’s so uptight and judgmental and just the utter inability to surrender oneself to the art and let it do its thing, not to mention an astounding…
I don’t understand, you guys are lamenting how AC has suffered b/c of the media cycle, but no one is covering it and you “might try to take another dive,” if you get around to it. If you think it’s worth discussing, why don’t you cover it? By “you cover it” I mean AV Club collectively, not you personally.
It’s not dreadful. It’s perfectly serviceable. There are zillions of movies worse than it.
Think for yourself. It’s not that bad.
As always, you can’t discuss issues of race within media, and look at it with a critical eye, without people disingenuously misconstruing it with “Oh my God! They’re calling it racist!”.
For a while now, I’ve wanted a crying baby gif to keep on-hand for whenever one of these whining knuckleheads shows up. I think yours is better. Thank you.
Because others like an artist more than I do, I want that artist destroyed!
Yeah, this actually makes me feel better about the whole thing. Still a shame to lose Gillian Anderson, though.
