I think we need to stop throwing the word "hacked" around. I view hacking as breaking into a system using software and other smarts. Stealing a password and figuring out the login screen is just simply "theft".

Consider the photo... $2000 macbook, $500 iPad... I feel like to get the full airplay functionality you are describing here, any type of receiver isn't too expensive for you...

I can understand why some people find tablets to be useless until they fully meet up to the expectations of a laptop. I on the other hand, never thought they were even competition to each other. I never expect a tablet to be able to do what a laptop does, or have the functionality that a laptop does.
