Why is it newsworthy that Beyonce doesn't feed her baby sugar (regularly) or Cheetos? She's TWO. I'd be concerned if she did.
This. High-kill shelters are horrible, but it's not the shelter's fault. Something has to be done with those dogs and cats, there aren't enough resources or homes for all of them, and a humane death is far better than a miserable life suffering in the streets.
Well, domestication is a tricky thing, normally we reserve that label for animals that have been modified over thousands of years, like cats or dogs - foxes generally haven't undergone this process. But a fur farm in Russia sped the process up by choosing only the absolute sweetest, easiest to handle foxes to breed…
Seriously. I have photographic evidence that they once, as kittens, snuggled, but now they basically ignore each other, punctuated by little brawls full of hissing and flailing of paws.
I have a six year old Golden and a 4 year old cat, and honestly, I think the dog is the cats favorite person in the house. The dog tolerates her, but she goes to him first when she wants snuggles. We got her as a kitten when he was two, so they did grow up together. And she's more of a dog/cat hybrid now. Get them…
im torn on this. as a kid, on the way to the circus with my family, protesters gave me an illustrated comic about how the elephants came to be there. i was too young to even know they were protesters, but that was enough to get me interested in animals-as-entertainment and be opposed to circuses that use animals. fast…
I don't even know who he is but spent a minute just staring at his lips.
For body shaming consistency it's either missing an adjective, or has one it shouldn't.
More and more evidence is suggesting that the real danger of obesity has nothing to do with fat, and everything to do with the stigma of being fat.
*mumbles* I have 13.
My daughter is a vegetation. Even as a toddler she refused to eat meat. At the age of 3, after being offered chicken and refusing it, she said "I don't understand why animals have to die for me to eat." I never offered her meat again. That was 15 years ago, and I have defended her right to be meat free over the…
Yes, vegans and other people who make a moral commitment to forgo factory-farmed meat are such monsters. The unnecessary mass brutalization and maiming of millions of animals each year is nothing compared to the suffering you and others must endure by having to listen to a preachy vegan.
Welp I gotta say.. that shouldnt have happened. But then again, most Americans enjoy their meat without any knowledge of the sources of that meat, what the animals go through, etc. I think if you are a meat eater, you should first have to face that full knowledge. Even kids.
"She's also an outlier in that at 5'4" and 105 lbs, her height-weight combination put her slightly below the threshold doctors who use the BMI scale would consider "healthy." She's also below what Weight Watchers would consider healthy for her height."
Interesting. So when it comes to overweight people, BMI is garbage…
Tori Amos: the Rorschach test of 90s alt pop.
Thank you for the link, i'll definitely take a look. I was a vegetarian for about 5 years as a teen, but had to start eating meat again because my anaemia was unmanageable even with supplements and a healthy diet. I still can't abide militant vegans/vegetarians, although I know that's a horrible cliche.
Oh god, I forgot about Seventeen! Yes, that was another source of body hatred for young me. I also regularly looked at Vogue because I wanted to be a fashion designer. So skinny, these models.
Butts butts butts.
