There is a weird noise that starts to happen in this video. I’m not sure if it’s got anything to do with the car’s issues or what, but it doesn’t sound great, whatever it is.

For work I’d say the L200 and D-Max (Colorado) both give the Hilux a good run for it’s money. They have about the same power as the Hilux and they have proven to be reliable in the mining operations that they are commonly used in Chile.
I live in Chile and my point was that this test is 100% justifiable, these trucks are used for work, but just as much for families and people who want to have a bigger car than the others (status symbol). So safety is a big deal, I see more delivery vans in the city than trucks, where I see trucks more often are in…
Maybe because they are all base trims? I don’t know what “Pure Drive” stands for exactly but maybe the cars that have active grille shutters have them?
The new Tsuru will be the Tiida, it’s already a lot safer and with still good visibility.
I mean... you can still get a manual Tiida, Versa, Note, Sentra, March, Kicks, Juke, 370z and their commercial range as manuals. So manuals are not dying, at least in Mexico.
Most taxi drivers just disconnect the airbags as they cannot afford to total their cars, the structure is a lot more important than the number of airbags in this case.
Much safer than the outgoing Tsuru though, and much roomier for the same price.
Ummm... no, they actually made them worse, a Japanese Tsuru (Sentra) will handle better, will have a higher quality and better put together interior and IMO looks better too.
No, They come in manual cars too, here in Chile you can get a manual Versa SL and it will get the “Pure Drive” badge, other cars with CVT’s get this badge:
They do roll:
You are SOOO wrong my friend, here in South America there are a shit ton of Hilux and similar trucks, they are always going on the fast lane over the speed limit (130 kph+) in the highway. They are rarely going below the speed limit and even in dirt roads they go fast (100+ kph).
This is NOT a Ridgeline, it’s a lot more Tacoma/Colorado as it has a BOF design and a lot more off road ability/payload.
Well, I’m sure this thing will sell in Chile and I see F-150's every single day, although the mid size segment is a lot more popular as is in all of south america.
The entire South American market is a thing too. They are used both as work vehicles and status symbols.
“Dump Truck” which sounds a lot less adorable.
“The 2016 Ford C-Max Hybrid, perfect for when you need to stop.”
That would be an expensive windshield replacement when it cracks.
That is because the first 3 cars you posted were shitty GM Korea (ex-Daewoo) rebrands and the last is a rebadged Nissan Frontier. The real Suzuki’s were better than that:
It actually does fit:
