Still sealed and uses similar batteries. I’ve been buying Samsung exclusively since before the Galaxy series. Had a 2, 3, 4 and currently a 5 (I didn’t like the S6 because...I couldn’t remove the battery!).

My S5's all had this problem after about a year. I just replaced them with an Anker battery on Amazon. I never thought to try to get free ones at the store, but the corporate store is so far away that it probably wasn’t worth the hassle for $12.
