I can't wait to the homage to the blood elevator scene from the Shining, but with maple syrup.

Oh man, I keep forgetting they're supposed to be sophomores. When the coach was like, "Reggie, you'll get your chance," I really wondered how this college junior would have another chance to be captain of the high school football team.
I would watch an entire episode of Castillo pointing out everything wrong with Archie's music.
Someone fills his guitar with snakes. As a message.
I commented this last week, but I'm still hoping Archie will become the Merzbow of Riverdale.
I would say Fabulous Muscles and then maybe Knife Play or Dear God, I Hate Myself. They also did this great cover of New Order's "Ceremony" which might be useful in familiarizing yourself with their style and what they can do with a classic song.
Totally, you can't tell me I Luv The Valley OH! and other cuts from Fabulous Muscles and a lot of stuff from Knife Play aren't pop songs with unconventional vocals and instrumentation.
Charlie Day should never play the straight man. He's the wildcard, bitches.
While the too smart little sister irritates me to no end, I think I hate the soundtrack more. The way songs are put in the movie to elicit an emotional reaction from the audience (see: above scene, which I would probably enjoy if it wasn't for the music) feels manipulative and it's like watching a music video instead…
Exactly. This is my problem with this movie. It's supposedly a "deconstruction" of the MPDG trope, but Summer is still a bland set of traits we're explicitly told instead of being shown, with no agency. There's nothing at the end or anywhere in between to truly deconstruct her MPDG-ness, because all that happens is…
God, the most irritating part in this episode was when Archie and Miss Grundy were watching a movie together and every time it cut to Archie, Miss Grundy would have her hair behind her ear and then when it cut to her, it wouldn't be behind her ear. I guess this was a nice distraction from their creepy as hell…
Yeah, the characters have been written very well and, for that reason alone, if the writers did go down that path, I wouldn't be mad. Just disappointed.
I loved this show. It was hilarious and it's great to have a horror comedy that doesn't skimp on the comedy. I'm often disappointed by highly recommended "horror comedies", because they're just horror movies with a few jokes thrown in, instead of the all-around absurdity, sight gags, and amazing line readings this…
Haha, the only way the "Archie's REAL passion is music" storyline will become interesting if he suddenly decides industrial hardcore is the genre he's meant for. Or if he tries to be the next Merzbow which everyone responds to with polite support, even though they're totally freaked out (except Jughead who problem…
In next week's episode, he'll show up to the Pussycat's rehearsal and be like "hey, you guys ever heard of Throbbing Gristle? I've written a few songs for you inspired by their music…"
Or somehow get Meryl Streep for Melania.
I think that might be the plot of Jennifer's Body.
Same here, I also really enjoy his work with the Paper Chase.
Eh, I think his production, especially drum production, is great and Shellac is pretty good, but different people, different opinions.
So excited for Xiu Xiu. Jenny Go-Go and Wondering are both bangers, so I'm interesting to see how they work in the context of the album. Also very curious about the Feelies, Meat Wave, Surfer Blood, King Gizzard, and Tim Darcy albums. February is gonna be a good month for music. Everything else though……
