One casualty of my office-working days was a super snarky article from the Economist about the advice of “Great Men” like Cook, Gates, Jobs, Bezos, etc. I loved it so much that I laminated it and put it on my individual fridge in the hopes that my clueless agency head would read it and see himself. (He never did

This is dumb. I assume next they’ll claim antiquing is “garage sale gentrification.”

If there are other kids in there and they rush in with guns drawn that is exponentially more reckless.

The article didn’t say there were other students in there, so why make that up? And also, if there are other students in the bathroom, how is a shoot-out in the bathroom a good idea?

Also very possible the kid puts down the gun and he is peacefully taken into custody.

I basically feel bad for everyone but the cops. The mom didn’t do anything wrong. Her daughter appears to have been abused and she did the right thing trying to protect her. The kid was alone in a bathroom. The cops needed to de-escalate and they didn’t.

Every school restroom I’ve ever seen has exactly one way and one way out. There’s never accessible windows because they don’t want to give unsupervised kids a chance to sneak off and ditch school. So if you truly think that you’ve got someone cornered and they have a gun, why the fuck do you run in there? He’s not

Nobody is going to care about what I say here, but as somebody also recovering from an eating disorder, I understand where Demi is coming from, though I think she blew it out of proportion.

I know she’s had a rough time of it in life in general, so I feel sympathy, but stories like this one and the one where she hi-LARIOUSLLY hired someone to sexually assault her bodyguard as a “fun prank” make me think she might also just be a plain-old asshole.  (She issued a non-apology for that one, too.)

The whole reason she went in to get a fro-yo in the first damn place is she thought of it as “good, safe” food, as opposed to ice cream!

I think it’s derived from her own lack of control, given that’s multiple former addicts have called her out for using substances during her recovery. She may be in a manic period, though she says her BP diagnosis was wrong (though I’m not very knowledgeable about her life, I read that she believes that her diagnosis

she’s rich so of course she has a MASSIVE sense of entitlement.

Oh Demi - people shouldn’t have to reveal all their habits and circumstances to the world. Saying gluten free and/or sugar free isn’t “diet culture” unless its calling them “healthier choices!” (I have to avoid a crapton of food but not for the reasons Demi thinks and I should expect my froyo place to tell me which

suggesting that these flavors instead be labeled according to the groups they’re intended for, like vegans, diabetics, or people with Celiac disease

They’re moving too quickly. It seems that they were in the mid-90s just a few months ago. If they keep up this pace, they’re going to be wearing the dreaded skinny jeans by year’s end.

I’m waiting for someone to point out where in the original photo she looks like she isn’t fit? Her stomach is flat, her ribs are slightly showing, and she has a clearly defined waist. What the fuck is even wrong with that photo? I find it bizarre. It looks just like what she’s showing on instagram, except from a front

Omg thank you lol. I basically just immediately skipped down to the comments to pose the “how do they POOP” question

I luvs me a nicely seared hunk of dead animal as much as the next bloodthirsty barbarian but even I need to toss a salad occasionally.

I feel like these kinds of diet fads are driven by 2 things in this country: 1) the obesity epidemic and 2) people trying to get in charge of their health despite not having a safety net of affordable healthcare. And maybe 3) lack of education.
