Am I the only one who feels an air of smugness coming out of this, rather than just chill? It feels more like they’re saying “Our game has already been downloaded 1.5 million times. Nintendo is incapable of stopping anyone who wants to from playing this now.”

Of course, that’s just sound at this point.

Yeahhhhh I love potlucks because I love flexing on something fancier than I’d bother to make for myself....but I also really really love chips so I’m pumped that someone contributed some. My favourite potlucks *have* involved a little coordination (i.e. ‘we have this many vegetarians’-level planning) but I think as

Why can’t all parties be catered, with passed hors d’oeuvres, valet parking, three piece string ensemble, followed by DJ when it gets later, peacocks roaming around, fire dancers. gambling, and a magician?

Billy really is doing God’s work. #MakeAmericaBrannigan

Those people sound like serious weirdos and piles of garbage.

I don’t know anyone like that. I do know lots of people who like to point out vegans/vegetarians and make comments about how much they love bacon and blood. And post memes about caricatures of vegans/vegetarians. Everyone else seems to not talk about it and get on with their day.

They pulled Lawson’s quote one sentence too early. Here’s the kill shot:

Well, a redpiller may be right about some things not related to gender, like, idk, how to cook a mean casserole. But about things that are related to gender, and women specifically? You better believe I’m gonna side-eye the crap out of what they have to say.

“I’ll take ‘2016 Movie Phrases’ for $500, Alex.”

“And the answer - The Ghostbusters reboot starred 4 female leads and had nothing at all do to with Warner Bros. Suicide Squad, yet Gawker commenters bring it up constantly as angst for childhood ruination and misogyny, bringing this phrase back into popular use.”

There’s usually no creepy sexual undertone when a man is being punched in the face and choked.

Right, but I’m not talking about myself here- I’m critiquing the way you’re approaching Jezebel’s descriptions here. Jezebel’s stance isn’t that Ghostbusters is good simply because it has women in it, it’s good because it’s well written. The critics aren’t saying Suicide Squad is bad because it DOESN’T have women in

Oh my god, you’re so dumb.

uuuuh-ooooh, someone’s going to have to go back and repeat a couple reading comprehension units...

OR: Ghostbusters is good because well written, Suicide Squad is bad because poorly written.

I think what’s mostly being said is that Suicide Squad ain’t good because it features women that are basically objectified in every scene, or punched in the face and choked.

Eh, action you’d expect. The other two, sexism and machismo, that’s poor filmmaking. And you can violent, sadistic, and even sexist characters without have those being the features of your movie. Which is not apparently what happened.

Not what they are saying at all. The critics say it is bad, not Jezebel.

Or maybe it means the central concept is flawed from the start!

You forgot “dullest” in your description of the characters. And the actors playing them.
