Yes, and this is a crazy thread over here! I’ve been on Jez forever and I am in shock over these comments about people buying guns because Trump got elected. WTF?! It’s like I stepped into Twilight Zone Jez or something.

I keep hearing Clinton wasn’t the right candidate, but centrists have been a safer bet for a long time. Who better to get the moderate republicans who are disgusted with Trump than a moderate republican? It makes logical sense. Unless they were not disgusted.

That’s everything I didn’t want to hear. This election and the ongoing shit show in Europe have made me wonder if this could happen in Canada.

But we need to factor in the amphetamines. Will he be more or less strung out during his presidency?

And will the GOP ever run a candidate who doesn’t pander to the “deplorable” after this? I mean, they’ve always played it this way (or at least since Nixon), just you know, discreetly.

I don’t know, after this election I feel like getting the popular vote by the largest possible margin is pretty important. And the only positive outcome of this shit show is to see so many questioning the electoral college and its purpose in this day and age.

Even for the rich, it isn’t beneficial to live in a society that does not address the urgent causes of climate change, has more poverty and is racially divided. It’s bad for everyone, including non-humans.

I have yet to reach anger cause I cannot get past the shock. Every time I hear or read the words ‘President-elect Trump’ my minds immediately goes to “this cannot be happening.”

He looks like he hasn’t taken uppers. Did he put away the uppers? I don’t understand. The world is upside down.

Last night on The Gist (podcast), Adam Davidson brought up the fact that US navy ships patrol the oceans and that once Trump finds out, he might be like, “uhhhh, why are we paying for this alone?” - which would suck for global trade.

And on an international level, I’m counting on the rest of the (reasonable) world leaders to unite and let Trump know, you know, the things he really ought to not do. Hopefully he will listen.

Except this wasn’t post-Versailles Germany... Is anyone outside of Jez/NYT completely shocked? I really thought Hillary would win, even if by a narrow margin. Every time I hear President-elect Trump I feel incredulous.
