Jennifer Hale is just greatness, period. I was thrilled that she's the voice of the female trooper in The Old Republic.
Yeah, when I was a kid I had the freedom to play around the neighborhood from age 7 or 8, but I don't recall my parents letting me wander around stores by myself. I guess the neighborhood seemed like more of a controlled environment, which really doesn't make any sense since anyone can just drive down the street at…
My daughter is only 3, so obviously it's a little different, but is it common for a parent to let a 7 year old wander off? "Several aisles away" is quite a bit of distance. There's always the potential for something like this to happen, but from a more practical standpoint I just can't imagine letting a kid that young…
That's the part that threw me off. Leaving your spouse to work from home? You gotta think there's bigger issues at play with those people, and they wouldn't honestly trade a happy marriage for the chance to telecommute on a daily basis. Shit, I deal with a hellish commute every day for my spouse, to support her and my…

I have a question tangentially related to this whole Komen debacle. And please understand that I'm genuinely looking for input here, I'm not trolling or promoting a Men's Rights point of view. I've engaged many people with discussion about abortion relating to these recent events, and as a staunch Pro Choice advocate…

I'm enjoying the game so far, but it would have been nice if the Shepard's Armor bonus was actually useful for my mage character =/
The best money I ever spent was on a couple pack and plays. They were essentially the perfect holding cell for my daughter when I had to grab a shower, bring in groceries, what have you. She didn't always like it, but damned if it wasn't efficient.
Perhaps subconciously we place our daughters into two distinct categories: girl and woman. The tendency seems to be that once they approach womanhood (puberty), our stances on gender issues with them change. "OK, now she's starting to grow up, let's get her squared away with the right feminist perspective". Maybe we…
I held one leg while my mother-in-law held the other, and we engaged in a spirited conversation about the upcoming Oscars while my wife huffed and puffed like an asthmatic Big Bad Wolf.
It's easier than you'd think. For me, the whole childbirth thing was pretty surreal, and you're in such a weird mental state that you disassociate it from reality. I never had a problem getting down to business with the wife after the fact, despite the relative combat-zone horror I witnessed during delivery.
I am often tempted to do this, but I live in Texas where it's safe to assume everyone is packing heat. I prefer not to tempt fate.
Since NippleGate the networks and the NFL have been paranoid about "lewd" behavior and the backlash they would potentially recieve. I'm pretty sure they've made every halftime performer since then sign a contract stating they'd be responsible for their own actions while being televised. It's a seperate issue from…
I don't know if obsessed is the right word, but our culture certainly places a premium on having kids. I'd venture to say that in most segments of our society the "normal" progression through adulthood is to get married and have a kid or two. Now, obviously some people don't want to kid married, or have kids, or might…
They raised us to be independent and free of stereotypes and now feel like things have "gone too far."
I saw the headline and immediately envisioned myself flipping chicken around on the grill like some kind of super grill master. This is slightly disappointing.
Erin addressed it in the article, but I was just going to say: didn't Mittens make Pro-Choice overtures during a gubernatorial campaign in MA? He just shamelessly panders to whatever group of people he thinks might help him forward his current agenda. If he thought bunny rabbits could get him elected he'd be out there…
As the father of a soon-to-be 3 year old girl, I run into this problem a lot. The marketing for children's toys is very gender-specific. I have no problem with my daughter playing with these types of Lego sets, or dolls or anything else. But I also encourage her to play with race cars and toy swords and anything else…
