There are a lot of upper middle class families. They lease or buy the cars and keep them for 3-5 years and then plenty of middle class families can get them used for a decent price. 

How long before they decide that pavement is liable to potholing and rutting, and invent some sort of extruded steel sections for the vehicles to run on, to ensure the vehicles have a smoother, longer-lasting track to travel on?

FCA man. Nobody would benefit more from buying up the remnants of Tesla than FCA. The majority of their lineup is way on the gas burning side of the spectrum and they don’t seem to have much in the way of an electric program. They’d fit right into the gap and help them anywhere there needs to be an average fuel
