I agree they can be had for under $5,000 if mileage and age is disregarded, but with the requirements of reliable and good for a 2 hour commute, as reliable as 4runners are, I personally wouldn’t be comfortable recommending a nearly 20 year old one with 200k miles on it, especially where he doesnt want to be doing a

Under $5k? I’m not sure where you live, but around me a 4 runner has been to the moon and back several times and is probably about 20 years old to be under $5k.

Timing matters a lot with trucks - in the last few years used truck prices have turned nuts. In my area a used f-150/silverado in the condition you briefly described would have a $2,000-3,000 price tag all day no matter how dirty it was.

I feel like we have heard stuff like this for a while, and it is typically based on the worst case scenario. In the below linkee article, which includes a link to the study, it notes that a significant portion of warming in trends is due to “adjustments” made to raw temperature readings, and these adjustments were

I daily drive a Camaro SS that is synergy green metallic - bright green with plenty of metallic flake. When I first looked at it I was not sure if I wanted something that bright...but I decided to go for it. I absolutely love it, so much more fun and unique, turns heads everywhere which adds to the fun of the car.

Just a friendly heads up... 1 through 3 on your list are already federal laws and have been for a long time. Age 18 to purchase long guns, 21 to purchase handguns. You are also subject to a background check every time you legally purchase a gun from a dealer. Private sales and transfers are already not allowed in many

In the US it is a break on taxes on income, not a reduction in consumption taxes. As a matter of tax policy, it is a significant difference, and people do react to it in different ways. In a minor correction to your other point, it isnt limited by how much you paid, but by what your total tax liability is. Your

For me...an HOA would completely write off something as being anywhere near a perfect home, but thankfully in much of NH, they arent too common.

7 months? Where is this fantasy land in which you reside? I’m just bitter because it is May...and the daily temps in NH refuse to crawl into the 60s yet this year. Hasn’t been fun car weather in over 7 months! Should sell my camaro and buy a land cruiser.

People are getting all excited about 84 gallons? People need hobbies. You do realize that on a regular basis oil tankerand fuel trucks are driving around the country with north of 10,000 gallons. Sometime they have accidents and leak some. This happens....just about all the time, but because it happened 100 miles from

Question for you - if you were sitting at home with a $25k paid for car, would you go and take out a title loan at a few % points to put that money into an investment account? If you had some equity in a home, would you take out another loan against your house to put it into an investment account? If so, you are a

Oh I completely agree - in the long term the cash payer is most likely the one with better overall financial habits. I was looking at it strictly in a bubble of the 5 year loan.

The entertaining thing about this arguement, is that 99% of those that make it don’t have the money to pay cash, and if they do they arent investing the other peice anyways. In reality you don’t win by much of anything. IE take 5 year loan for $25k with $0 down, 2.9% apr and put that $25k cash in an investment

I am betting a fair amount of the cost is for the fabrication to make it look good - man hours are expensive. Additionally, they rebuilt half the body panels on the truck, I bet it would set you back a fair amount to just replace with OEM panels and paint, nevermind the monstrosity they created. I am betting 20-30%

I loved those books!

I would rather have the size I will need once and a while, rather than the size that works 90% of the time, while making the other 10% impossible. 90% of the me it is just me in my car, so my Camaro works. If my wife didn’t have an Outback for the other 10%, I would have to get another hooptie for those uses (home

The valuation makes no sense at all (to me). Tesla is worth more on hopes and dreams...GM and Ford are already immensely succesful companies that make a large number of vehicles. The sales, profit, assets, etc actually exist. Tesla being worth more based on people hoping it will increase dramatically to pipe dream

Quiet cabins are great. I recently trst drove a Silverado and was amazed at how quiet it was on the highway. Let me hear that the truck with 12 miles on it already had some interior rattles. Great job GM!

My thought is similar - why would you buy this over a WRX for the same money. Unless RWD is a must have, a wrx, gti, st, etc are all much more practical cars that are also a joy to drive for the same money or less.

The amazing thing...it says the majority of those who put down a deposit make $25-$50k annually...how many of those will actually buy when it gets here? That is a lot of money at those income levels. Most people in that range wont even get the benefit of the full tax credit in the first year of ownership.
