Off topic, but I always wonder the same thing - what do most folks consider upper middle class / upper class income? I grew up in a household that made just about a 6 figure income, it always felt like we were just doing okay - I never realized how much money that was until I started working through college and

I agree with the thoughts of others that if it reduces the amount lf time I have to spend at work - sweet. But unfortunately I get nauseous as a passenger just reading my phone for a few minutes, so I would most likely use this time to do what nearly everyone else will do in their self driving cars - get more sleep.

I agree, but they would sell even better if they would just blend in - Camry sales crush the Prius despite they are so similarly priced. If folks could get all electric or 50mpg hybrid at very low $20k/high teens (as the Nissan price is outlining) and it looked like a normal car, I bet they would sell more of them.

0-60 in 7.5....... really not bad at all. in a straight line that is in the same territory as the civic si a few years ago. With the turbo, i bet there is opportunity to cut off another second with just a tune. Not the only measurement of fun factor, but impressive when you look at what an ecobox just 5 years ago was

I agree, even if it comes out looking bland as a Corolla or Fit...I would bet it would sell really well compared to screaming “I AM AN ELECTRIC ECOBOX”

Additionally, the value of going to one school over another is often nill despite a price difference. I have a friend that went to a $60k/year school for civil engineering...and came out of school making $60k a year. That is a horrendous investment compared to a state school kid who spent $20k/year...and got the exact

I agree with you there - I am very lucky. At 18 kids need a bit more guidance than “go to school wherever you desire!” - at that age you havent lived and simply do not know the true consequences you will face even 5-10 years down the road.

Northeast is really bad - University of New Hampshire in state with room and board will cost an undergrad student roughly $29k/year. Even for a commuter it would be $17.7k...it is up over 50% in the last 5 years alone

Some parents do care - when I was applying to schools in 07/08, my parents sat me down, and let me know exactly how much they could contribute (not much), and what would be on me, along with what my loan payment would be if I took all of it on a loan...then they showed me how much more difficult it would be to afford

I disagree as someone who worked my way through school, graduated with a BS in accounting in 2012 with no debt. It is a matter of choices...I chose to live at home, I chose the cheapest school within driving distance, I chose to drive a cheap, reliable, and boring corolla with roll up windows. School was about $11k a

$3700 isnt bad at all, I’ve spent nearly $2k in 12 months on a Jeep WJ - much rather would have set that money on fire with a Porsche.

ah okay, just saw this after my prior post since you were gray. That does make sense, I had translated the original post to mean even if it had not been sold. So the units are technically sold, doesnt seem much like a GAAP trick to me - if the vehicle is purchased it is revenue, even if sitting on the manufacturer lot

P&L and cash are fairly disconnected for most accrual systems - my thought was that when looking at the financials as a whole, wouldnt you be able to easily see what they did, if that was the strategy - ie since cash was not recieved, there would be anothwr BS impact? I was not aware auto manufacturing had different

I think a lot of people were expecting TGT to be all of the best moments from TG. They built up such hype in their minds over the last year that TGT was going to be nothing but a disapointment to them no matter what it was. I just watch it because I like it, not because I am looking for a “Greatest Hits” of Top Gear.

I believe a lot of manufacturers do this for a variety of products already- not just cars. I know Subaru you can actually get it as a non PZEV, but they just ship all of them as PZEV in case it ends up in CA. I’m sure manufacturers would love on set of federal standards, but then a state like CA makes more strict

This kind of GAAP work doesn’t work any more - after Enron and a few others there were a number of regulations passed in the early 2000s. You can’t pass off something as sold if it is still sitting on your books and you haven’t received any payment. If you recieved an order for and billed it, maybe you can record it

Interesting enough, that says the owner of the private property. Uber does not own the cars, therefore it is not their private property to ban the gun from - that would be up to the driver.

My wife’s daily is a 2015 Outback Limited 2.5....it is an excellent car. Very comfortable, lots of rooom, nice interior, and as you said, it is what it is, a wagon. I will disagree on the fuel economy (at least for the h4)- my wife averages 30mpg on her daily commute - that is phenomenol for a car this size and can

I think it depends on the dealer, one of the ones near me the showroom/service area is top notch (all rebuilt 5ish years ago).

This is definitely interesting, but I am guessing application is still a ways off. Just driving on a road with no load it goes 55km, add the amount of load farmer would put on these tractors on a daily basis I imagine that would shorten the life substantially. Though I do see a potential application if downsized for
