I always recommend to people to seek out the original German TV miniseries if they can find it. Adds so much more to the story. It was released on DVD in the US as the original uncut version

oh man, there’s actually some potential in this idea, but Adam Goldberg is the Family Guy of live-action shows, so this has no chance now
Mr. Mayor reminded me so much of the first couple of seasons of Parks & Rec, still trying to figure itself out but occasionally flashing real sparks of potential. The episodes overall tended to fall flat but there were some great jokes in there.
Make sure you include The Rocketeer in that mix.
