Kind of- Judaism has a leap month every few years. It pushes everything back, and Easter usually doesn’t fall during Passover those years.

I’m going to be “that person” and say- this is the one holiday that wasn’t moved to accommodate a pagan holiday. It’s timing coincides with Passover (except in years when there is a double month of Adar, then I don’t know how the fuck they figure out when Easter is.)

I saw on Twitter that one of the students died- an 8 year old, and that the teacher was a special education teacher. This story just gets worse.

I keep little baggies of games and plastic toys in my “red backpack” in case we have to evacuate and keep the kids occupied, they have something to do. These are the things we have to think about and it is sick.

As a teacher- I HATE having to practice the lockdown drills. It makes me sick that we even have to think about that type of scenario.

As a human this breaks my heart. As a teacher- it breaks my soul. School is supposed to be a place where kiddos can be safe. I hate that it will never be a safe place for these students again.

This fluffy asshole won’t leave me alone! (I kid, he’s the best and I love him so much!)

The look on Elaine Stritch’s face when Patti says “does anyone still wear a hat?” is perfection!

That whole set of women was so kick-ass, and it continues to make me angry that they didn’t turn that concert into an album.

Thanks! I teach sewing classes in the summer, and the family keeps chickens. One of them was giving me serious side-eye whilst I was teaching and a perfect handle was begun!

This makes so glad that most teacher programs now have a cultural plurality class as a requirement.

That is based off of a very famous experiment- there was a documentary done about it.

As a teacher this baffles me. How could anyone think that this was a good idea?!

At the very least, she should have to jump through the hoops that the teachers have to. We are required to be labeled as “Highly Qualified” through testing, evidence of specific classes and degrees, and are required to go through observations and student teaching. It should be required for ANYONE who wants to have a

I love this movie so much.

I was a plate in a local production. I drove 30+ miles a day for rehearsals. Totally worth it.

Her daughter is going to be taking care of Gary. She also has a French bulldog and they get along well :-)

Same. Princess Leia was a revelation for me. I was the classic “tomboy” (I hate that term, but it gets the point across) and Leia was a god damn hero in her own right. She opened a world of possible for little girls.

Seeing Princess Leia as a 5 year old was a transformative experience for me. I was used to the sweet, docile female lead in most children’s movies, and seeing a badass on screen was amazing.

It looks dumb as hell, and I can’t wait to watch the shit out of it.
