A questions that I have for the Whites in this audience (this is not acceptance of Smith slapping Chris Rock, these are honest questions about the public’s reaction to assault at large):

I was surprised that nobody could think of anything better than a G.I. Jane reference. It’s a movie that hasn’t been culturally relevant for 20 years. It’s a movie that could have been purchased on VHS.

It’s only anecdotal evidence... but yes.

If you only knew Africa from movies, you’d be surprised they have cities... clothes, water, and everything else.

I feel like you can tell someone is on the wrong side if they use the term “cancel culture” to defend someone / something.

I loved the movie, saw it twice in theatres and plan on picking it up to watch a couple more times... but I don’t know if it’s Oscar material. Of course I don’t have interest in most Oscar pictures.
