I'm starting to care less and less about the actual cars and more and more about finally having a Chevy vs. Ford war again. This is awesome. First its the Camaro against The Mustang, then the HD against the Super Duty and now police cars.

@utron: The brakes that stop the catch car (catch car = what pulls the train down the track) often heat up. During its first year of operation, overheating would cause the ride to shut down for 20 minutes every 6 launches or so. The water lines were installed during the off season.

@utron: The magnets are not for propulsion, they do the braking. The system uses a cable to pull the car down the track, which is wrapped around a drum inside the motor building near the base of the tower. Its a hydraulic pressure system that turns the drum. Don't know enough to get technical beyond that.

@superhappyfuntime: But with over the shoulder restraints. Ka is faster by 8 miles per hour and taller by 30 feet, but not nearly as exciting with those restraints. Also, Dragster was the first strata and as such its capable HP is almost 3 times that of Ka.

@Homerjay is utterly alone.: Get a phone that will multi-task. I downloaded it to my Droid about an hour ago and it asked, when I went to shut it down, if I wanted it to run in the background and is happily draining my battery as we speak.

Just downloaded this to my Droid and will drag it over the coals starting tonight. Hope it works because I'm setting the cruise to 90 on I-75 tonight. Although it is Michigan and I am on 696 for a spell. The state speed limit on 696 is something like 85. So it may not be the best test.
